St Peter’s Maxey is part of the benefice which includes Etton, Northborough, Peakirk and Glinton.
A church has stood in the ground since as far back as 1113AD However, fragments of tombstones excavated in the churchyard and preserved in the church (the Sweeting museum) reveal that a Saxon church existed on the site of the present Norman building, without a tower.
Today it stands as a central pillar of village life, welcoming one and all through both its regular calendar of worship and special events.
"St Peters is one of the most welcoming small village churches that you will find. Their special services are unmissable."
